Bureau of Customs Port Users Summit

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil) Inc. was properly and very well represented at the port users summit organized by the Bureau of Customs. We were the last to present and openly brought out the abusive charges being charged by some shipping lines to importers. We are glad to note that the new Customs law allows them to regulate shipping lines and we convinced them to immediately do so. Our presentation was the most applauded as we did not beat around the bush to please anyone and was witnessed by the Commissioner and all the Deputy Commissioners and Directors. The Commissioner himself thanked us for our sincerity to help the government and assured us that he will help.
