The FICCI is committed to helping uplift the lives of those who have less in life by advocating and working on sustainable projects that will achieve inclusive growth thereby alleviating poverty. This is achieved by enhancing synergies between the FICCI’s corporate and individual members with the different national and local government agencies and non government organizations which help facilitate our Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
The FICCI recently responded to the call of H.E. President Rodrigo Duterte to help build homes for our brothers and sisters in the province of Sulu. The Chamber responded with the help of some of its members and raised enough funds for the very first Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Kapatid Village. The Chamber partnered with the Philippine Centre for Entrepreneurship or Go Negosyo and Gawad Kalinga to make this dream a reality.
The Chamber also regularly responds to calls for help during both natural and man made calamities. The Chamber played an active role even in the effort to help victims and soldiers during the Marawi siege and is committed to continue supporting our brother and sister Filipinos in these times of need.
One of the more well known projects the Chamber engages in is the “Eye Camp,” which has been a successful endeavor of the FICCI for many years. Providing free eyeglasses and eye checkups for those who cannot afford eye care, is our way of making their lives a little more comfortable and giving them the opportunity to “see” and live their life without the discomfort of not being able to see properly.
