The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil.) Inc. (FICCI) held its Diamond Thanksgiving Gala Night on November 19, 2025, at the Manila Marriott Hotel, marking the 75th Anniversary of India–Philippines Diplomatic Relations and FICCI Philippines’ 75th Founding Anniversary. The event celebrated enduring friendship, resilience, and shared progress, highlighting FICCI’s role in fostering business and cultural ties.
The gala featured performances by Raphael Dela Cruz (Light Art Show), showcasing the significant events of the 75 Years of India-Philippines Diplomatic Relations; the Natyamandala School of Indian Classical Dance, recreating a traditional ritual dance for the goddess Durga; and the Daloy Dance Company, blending socio-political issues and other topics pertinent to the Filipino experience. FICCI President Mahesh P. Mipuri welcomed and thanked all the guests, FICCI members, Golden Peacock Honorees, and the diplomatic corps during his Opening Remarks, setting the tone and mood of the entire event. Meanwhile, H.E. Harsh Kumar Jain, Ambassador of the Embassy of India in Manila, emphasized the historic diplomatic milestones between India and the Philippines. And at the same time, Mr. Joey Concepcion underscored the vital role of businesses as the Philippines prepares to chair ASEAN in 2026.
The highlight of this event was the Golden Peacock Excellence in Government Service Awards, an honor that recognizes exemplary government and diplomatic leaders for visionary leadership and public stewardship. Government officials who were bestowed the award were Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, Anti-Red Tape Authority Director General Ernesto V. Perez, Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Senator Bam Aquino, Senator Pia Cayetano, Senator Win Gatchalian, Ambassador Josel Ignacio, and Ambassador Harsh Kumar Jain. Meanwhile, the Golden Peacock Humanitarian Award of Excellence was conferred on Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan. Apart from his advocacy work in education, disaster response, and community empowerment, he is now at the forefront of helping Filipino children with Biliary Atresia, a life-threatening liver disease.
The evening brought together business leaders, officials, and the Filipino–Indian community to celebrate achievements and reinforce continued partnership and growth.
