Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC) – General Assembly

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil.) Inc. (FICCI) hosted the 6th General Assembly of the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC), led by Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, on 6 August 2026, at the Diamond Hotel Manila. The assembly brought together the BOC, FICCI members, and key trade and logistics stakeholders for an open dialogue on customs reforms, trade facilitation, and industry concerns.

 

Discussions covered the proposed Joint Administrative Order (JAO), transparent charging practices, improvements in delivery order and empty container procedures, port congestion, and the BOC’s transition to the Customs Processing System (CPS). Updates on importer accreditation and the use of alternative ports were also highlighted.

 

Commissioner Nepomuceno emphasized the importance of sustained government-industry collaboration in addressing port congestion and advancing customs reforms. FICCI is honored to have hosted the CICAC General Assembly and remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote a more efficient, transparent, and competitive trade environment.

 

FICCI also had the opportunity to hold an Executive Session with concerned BOC and FICCI officials, providing a focused platform to discuss key industry concerns and areas for continued collaboration.
